age 40 | married | two step-children | CEO, Renee Rouleau Skin Care | Dallas, Texas

When I’m not running my skin care company… you can find me on my 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster. I’ve been a biker babe for eight years and nothing relaxes me more than a little wind in my hair. People are surprised when they hear that a skin care expert rides a Harley. I love wearing leather, but I make sure my skin doesn’t look like leather by wearing a lot of sunscreen.

Dreaming of… France. My husband is French, so we go to visit his family. I love getting facials when I’m there and of course, the shopping. Life definitely slows down when I’m in France. I just returned from a trip where I did a French Skin Investigation. It’s fascinating to see how the French approach differs from my approach.

If I weren’t an aesthetician… I’d probably be an executive assistant to a CEO. I love working at a desk, I’m extremely organized and love being around smart people.

Best skin care Tip… Aside from wearing sunscreen on the face and neck 365 days a year, rain or shine, inside or out, I’m always preaching to never use a bar of soap or any foaming cleanser that makes your skin feel tight and dry after washing. You don’t want to strip the water out of the skin and then run and put moisturizer on to put back in what you just took out. Makes no sense.

My home… is where my heart is. We live in the country on 40 acres in Farmersville, Texas and our three Dobermans run and play all day. It’s so peaceful. I do have an apartment in the city of Dallas, so I get the best of both worlds.

Most memorable celebrity experience… I was giving a celebrity a facial and at the end when she was leaving she asked me “Where can I get a pack of cigarettes?” This is not a question an aesthetician gets often!

Favorite Fall Trend… textured tights. I love bringing a bit of an edge to my outfits and funky tights let me do just that.

Obsession… Twitter – @ReneeRouleau! I do a new skin care tip every day. I love to share my knowledge and I’ve even found a great personal assistant on Twitter.

The best thing about turning 40… is that I now truly understand the concept of aging. When I first became an aesthetician I was 18 years old and I would talk to my older clients about anti-aging and I know they were thinking to themselves “What does she know about aging?” So now at 40, I truly understand how my clients feel.

Guilty pleasure… Staying at beautiful hotels when I travel. I love being treated like a queen and living the life of luxury.
